Communal Literary Hub in Sebring, Florida
I always knew that one day I wanted to own my own bookstore, so as a retired librarian/library branch manager, I started the online division of my business out of my garage to fulfill a dream, as well as to fulfill a tremendous need in our community. This is an opportunity that will provide our children and adults with more advantages to read, engage, learn, and most of all, have fun together, in addition to becoming involved in various activities Beach House Books and More will offer.
Most recently, Beach House Books and More opened its doors in the heart of Sebring with new and gently used books, including a limited selection of music CDs, Vinyl, DVDs, Puzzles, Games, Gifts and Merchandise. This inventory is constantly growing and changing, with new merchandise being added daily.
Donations of new and gently used bookstore-related items are always welcome and greatly appreciated.
Great News! Beach House Books and More now has a physical store, which is located at 3210 Physicians Way, in the heart of downtown Sebring. Our initial opening (Chapter 1, Phase I) was on Saturday, April 27, 2024 in conjunction with National Independent Bookstore Day.
Please visit our GoFundMe page, which has been established for donations to assist with costs for the building renovation fund and furnishings for Beach House Books and More and Coffee Café with plans for expansion already in the works.
This location (once renovations are fully completed) will offer a variety of activities, including Children's Storytime, a Creative Play Center while parents shop, spaces for tutoring, author talks and book signings, local author exhibits and promotions, and a puzzle table or two, as well as participation in numerous community events. As an added bonus, a coffee café with items such as coffee, tea, hot chocolate, bagels, and muffins will be available daily for purchase while you browse for that perfect read.
This will be a spot to gather, discover, learn, interact with one another, and again, have fun! A spot for afternoon tea with friends or where a solo adventurer can relax with a book and a bite.
It takes a village to open a bookstore and a community to make it thrive.
